Wave one – 2011

Key areas of investigation

The inaugural wave of the Social Media Benchmark drew participation from over 1,500 marketers across a range of sectors and geographies. The study focussed on the four main social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter) and interrogated marketers around:

  • Spend and resourcing
  • Management of social media channels
  • Frequency of usage
  • Developing customer insights
  • Metrics and evaluation
  • Value and buy-in

The results from the first wave of the Social Media Benchmark are available in two different formats:

  • The Social Media Benchmark wave one infographic – publicly available at no cost
  • The wave one report – complimentary for CIM members; £95 for non-members
